解答：1，作形容词：other表示“另外的”，“其他的”；another则表示“再一”“另一”之意。如：
Do you have any other suggestions? 你还有别的建议吗？
Do you want to have another try? 你想再试一次吗？
2，other表示两者中的“另一”；another则强调“不同的”另一，可指多者中的“另一”。如：
Now, open your other eye. 现在睁开你另一只眼睛。(不用another)
I’ll come another time.我下次再来吧。(不用other)
3，Please show me another book.请再给我拿一本书看。(没有范围或范围较大)
4，作代词：other有两种形式：the other和others。the other指两者中的另一个，经常与one连用。而others则表示“其他的人？物”。如果将其余的人？物全部包括在内，应加定冠词the。试比较：
one…the other (只有两个)
one…another…another (有多个)
some…the others(剩下的全部) (共有多个)
